Ryley Walker ‘Primrose Green’ (Official Video)

Twiddly rustic-warm classic-folk sounding new track from Ryley Walker. There’s an air of classic artists about this track as Walker croons with a soft earthy wailing vocal over a pleasant bubbling bed of piano, tinkering percussion, buckling double bass bends and sliding intricate guitars. It’s a nice burst of autumn-winter-spring transition forest walking and contemplation but I feel like it doesn’t quite go somewhere where it could and that without an elaboration in structure somewhere primrose green could get overgrown and not treated to repeat plays on a stereo. I’ve heard better unsigned acts in this genre but as a taster of this obviously very talented guitarist however, it’s a nice slightly ethereal pleasing dilly-dally of an introduction.
