The Hamilton’s write great pop music that crosses jazz, indie and electro-swing. ‘Take The Hit’ is marvellously colourful with this array of genre’s on show and is perfectly crafted in its structure. It gets quite infectious with Sax from The Mavericks’ Max Abrams underpinning it’s twisting carousel of pop. One might think this Aussie duo might have more success being more rigid and sticking to one genre, perhaps a full jazz album or full blues album but ‘Take The Hit’ is more original and explorative and rewards in this manner too. We hope to see them in a few years time breaking through into the pop world with their real music.
